John Rudden, owner and master-chef of Grassington House and outside caterer for Broughton Hall events has been shortlisted in the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2014.
These annual awards unite the country’s finest chefs and acknowledge standards of excellence.
He has been chosen as a finalist in the Restaurant Chef category and will be travelling to the Westminster Park Plaza hotel for the gala award ceremony in June, attended by 800 of the fine dining industry’s elite.
A team of expert judges examined the entries and nominations from members of the public to determine the shortlist of three for the category. John will be up against Mark Greenaway and Paul Kitching both of whom run restaurants in Edinburgh.
John is no stranger to the Craft Guild Awards, having previously won the Pub Chef category during his days in the North West.
Sue Rudden commented on the shortlisting saying “It’s wonderful news that John’s skill and tireless hard work both here at the hotel and for Broughton Hall has been acknowledged by his peers in the industry. We’re very excited and would like to thank all our customers who helped to support our nomination.”
John added thanks to his team and acknowledged that he could not create and maintain such high standards without their commitment to excellence.
