After their first dance-out of the season in Skipton at Easter, the Flagcrackers of Craven will be donning their kit for a trip to Oxford to perform at the university town’s annual folk event.
Travelling from their Yorkshire base, the colourful Border morris team with their characteristic blackened faces will be brandishing their sticks and tatters around Oxford on Saturday 18th April at dance spots including Oxford Castle Unlocked and the Natural History Museum alongside prestigious morris sides from across the country.
The Flagcrackers, a mixed morris side with a broad spectrum of ages from toddlers to septuagenarians is one of the country’s most vibrant morris teams.
Squire Nigel Foster explains “We are looking forward to our first trip of the year and dancing out in the company of some other great teams for the weekend”.
