Whitby care home Peregrine House has retained its Gold Award status awarded by the independent standards organisation Investors in People.
Internationally recognised, the Investors in People accolade is awarded to companies who have been rigorously assessed for their performance in leading, supporting and improving their employees.
Only 3{afd41c4ab3623e68baffe29f6190c4c16e77cb65ef9a747ad10afe8b083b250d} of qualifying organisations achieve the highly coveted Gold Award status which the caring Peregrine House team are delighted to have achieved again.
The Investors in People awarding body demands leaders who make their objectives clear, inspiring and motivating staff to deliver those aims. They seek owners and employees who are trusted and who act in line with the organisation’s values at all times with the courage and support to challenge inconsistent behaviours. They reward a culture of trust and ownership in organisations where people feel empowered to make decisions and act on them.
Dr Kevin O’ Sullivan and his wife Teresa O’Sullivan are proud that Alison Bedford, who won Registered Care Home Manager of the Year in the 2013 National Care Awards, continues to lead her team to embody all the values embodied in the Investors in People Gold Award. Training is high on their agenda, and Alison is just one example of several long-standing staff members who have worked their way up through various roles to achieve managerial status at the home.
Alison commented “Peregrine House residents and staff are all valued equally. Working together to make life rewarding for everyone is what makes the place tick so that we continue to be not only a benchmarking care home but more importantly a happy place to live or work.”
