With the deadline approaching for entries to Skipton Business Awards (SBA2018), businesses with a BD23 postcode are reminded that now is the last chance to enter in the quest to reveal the best of our local businesses before the Monday 15th January closing date.
As everyone settles into the routine of the New Year, SBA co-ordinator Wendy Lawson believes this is the perfect time for business owners to focus on their 2017 achievements and look ahead to being an active part of the business community in 2018.
Free to enter, application requires only a 300 word summary for each category entered and does not require detailed fiscal information. Applications can be made online at http://www.skiptonbusinessawards.co.uk/enter or an entry form can be requested from sba@skiptonbusinessawards.co.uk.
Wendy explains “Entering is a good way to focus on strengths at the beginning of the year and the ultimate purpose of the awards is to showcase and champion the businesses of the town, providing an opportunity for companies of all levels to shine amongst their peers in the local and regional media.”
An independent panel of judges with business acumen will consider the applications in detail during February. An award ceremony dinner on Thursday March 22nd at The Rendezvous Hotel will celebrate the success of the winners and showcase the nominees and runners-up.
Spearheaded by the Skipton Chamber of Trade and Commerce, the awards are backed by Headline Sponsor Skipton Building Society, along with 12 Category Sponsors. Each winner will receive a trophy and a bottle of champagne sponsored by The Pentelow Practice.
The comprehensive categories to choose from are:
Best New Business (sponsored by High Corn Mill); Best Business Supplier/Wholesaler (sponsored by Bluefin Insurance Services); Best Accommodation (sponsored by The Rendezvous Hotel) ; Best Apprentice/Trainee (sponsored by Spear Travels); Best Customer Service (sponsored by Bizzie Lizzie’s); Best Food & Drink Award (sponsored by Barclays Bank Plc); Best Fitness, Health & Beauty (sponsored by Aspire Magazine); Best Leisure & Tourism (sponsored by The Mill Shop); Best Manufacturer/Engineering (sponsored by Windle & Bowker); Best Market Stall (sponsored by Skipton Market); Best Professional/Financial Services (sponsored by The Shepherd Partnership) and Best Retailer (sponsored by Tyro Training).
