John and Susan Rudden of Grassington House Hotel have collected another commendation at the AA’s Bed & Breakfast Awards held at the Landmark London Hotel.
The awards ceremony celebrates the best of Bed & Breakfast hospitality throughout the UK.
Of 23,000 B&Bs in the UK, The Grassington House team are delighted to have been awarded 1st runner up in the Funkiest B&B of the Year category; no mean feat for a Yorkshire Dales village.
Usually it is John’s extraordinary culinary skills that attract the limelight for the restaurant, but on this occasion it is undoubtedly Susan’s design flair that has attracted the attention of the judges who were looking for the ‘quirkiest and most unique guest accommodation in Britain’. Managing to complement the original Georgian architecture of the building, she is not afraid to embrace the contemporary to create a wow factor in the bedrooms.
Simon Numphud, Head of Hotel Services at the AA said, ‘It is great and an absolute pleasure to recognise all of our 2015 AA Bed & Breakfast awards winners. The fantastic range of establishments clearly demonstrates the strength and depth that the B&B market offers in the UK. The quality and individuality really stand out underpinned by great hospitality from their respective, highly committed and passionate owners.’
Susan thanked the sheer hard work of the Grassington House team in creating and maintaining world-class standards for their guests.
