After an exciting first week at here at Manifest being thrown in the deep end, on Friday it was time enjoy some extra- curricular activities. Like Jane, I enjoy horse riding, so what better way to finish the week with some bonding at the stables? Wrong! Despite 3 years of me not jumping due to an injury, my first time meeting Jane’s wonderful little pony Magic we decided it would be a great idea to do some jumping as boy, does he love it!
After a quick warm up in the school and 3 run outs I finally managed to get him over the first jump and although we both made it over, I didn’t quite make it on board but instead to the floor, or more accurately, a pile of muck (my fault not Magic). Uninjured I climbed back aboard and we carried on. Eventually, we both made it successfully over the first jump and around a small course.
After 3 falls, losing my stirrup and speeding at every jump it is safe to say that I have a lot of work to do! I will hopefully be going up this week to climb back in the saddle, so let’s pray for some lovely weather or at least no more rain. I am hoping to compete with Magic this summer so fingers crossed; check back for more updates!
As well as Jane treating me to riding her beloved pony, she also fed my other hobby of upcycling furniture by buying me a beautiful decoupage kit book as an end of first week present from one of her favourite vintage haunts ,‘Birdcage’ in Skipton! It’s full of all the information needed to create lovely pieces of vintage furniture using decoupage along with some patterns! It will definitely keep me busy!
