Skipton business club showcases Canine World owner’s dogged determination

Enterprising Women, the UK’s largest national community for female entrepreneurs will be meeting again on Thursday 4^th September at Utopia, Broughton Hall near Skipton and this month’s inspirational speaker is Caroline Grant, a former analyst in medical recruitment turned entrepreneur and owner of the award-winning online business; Canine World.

Caroline will be giving an account of her entrepreneurial journey, which brought her to the attention of Dragon’s Den, Theo Paphitis.

It is estimated that there are currently almost 1.5 million self-employed women in the UK generating more than £130 million, a figure that is set to double over the next ten years. Through its local business clubs, Enterprising Women aims to support businesswomen through training, mentoring, networking and practical advice to help them reach their potential.

Open to any businesswomen in the area, the Skipton club meets monthly to bring together like-minded local female entrepreneurs, with a focus on knowledge sharing, guest speakers, success stories and workshops at a time of the day that fits within childcare hours.

Club host, Emma Pentelow, is a director of wealth management firm,The Pentelow Practice. Also a busy mum of two young children aged 2 and 5, she understands the challenges of juggling a successful business and a family.
