New collection is launched following local firms’ collaboration
Haworth’s No 10 The Coffee House has collaborated with Yorkshire based firm, The Stitch Society to launch its first collection of in-house accessories and aprons.
Using vintage fabrics, carefully selected over the past decade, from Yorkshire’s former textile mills, and a range of luxury materials hand sourced from a selection of ateliers, The Stitch Society has successfully been creating beautifully designed, high quality, handmade aprons coveted by artisans and skilled craft people, from across the globe.
A start-up success story, the design firm only launched last year, but has grown significantly through online retail, recently moving to larger premises in the world heritage site – Salts Mill. With a range of apron designs in its collection, The Stitch Society garments each have a timeless name such as best sellers Betty, Martha and Agnes and the practical pleated apron pocket have proved so popular the pattern design has been registered for a patent.
This is all in keeping with the owner of No 10, Claire Barton who shares a passion for quality, good design and a curation of the local area’s rich heritage. This has led to an expansion of her gift shop within her renowned coffee house, collaborating with TSS to create a unique collection of aprons and tableware that reflect the unique No 10 style and brand.
Claire Barton said, “The No 10 collection is designed with quality fabrics, many sourced from local mills but it is anything but – ‘run of the mill’. Working with The Stitch Society we have been able to successfully source quality materials and create garments with great attention to detail, with an emphasis on durability and comfort. Items are both practical and stylish, successfully combining fabrics with a rich history but creating a contemporary look.”
Accessories retail from £4.50 and aprons from £50. The new collection is now available at No 10 The Coffee House in Haworth, nestled between a row of terraces at the bottom of Haworth’s iconic cobbled streets.
